Resetting computer

I was curious if resetting the computer does anything, good or bad? Can anyone tell me?

it has to re-learn somethings...........but it wont fix any check engine problems.......... what is wrong?

It is only useful if you have replaced a sensor or made an ajustment to a sensor like the TPS. It will clear any stored trouble codes, but it won't fix what made the codes in the first place. The computer will have to "re-learn" all the settings again, and the engine may run rough until it learns the settings.
