Resetting ECU? And where to use Dielectric Grease?

I had bookmarked a couple good articles about doing a complete tune up on a 5.0L, but I seemed to have lost them. Anyone know the links?

What I'm trying to find out is the correct procedure to reset the ECU. I just put in a new EGR, EGR sensor and speed sensor so I figure it can't hurt to let the computer 'learn' the new parts.

Also, how should I be using dielectric grease on my ignition pieces? Apply it all over the spark plug & distributor cap terminals?

Opinions will vary.

I disco' the battery cables and hit the brakes for several seconds. Others turn on headlights, touch the disconnected-battery cables together, etc to discharge the capacitors in the KAM.

For most things, I use dielectric grease sparingly. In Portland, you might use it more liberally. It's a means to keep connections from corroding together, water and dirt out, etc. But it does hinder conduction a bit, so dont go crazy. A little goes a long ways.

Good luck.
