I recently fitted a dual point Pertronix Ignitor II electronic ignition kit with Flamethrower coil. I gapped the unit in accordance with the instruction, opened up the spark plug gaps by .010 per recommendation from the guys at Stangnet and checked and adjusted the engine timing. The engine runs great when it starts, the problem is it doesn't start any better than with the regular points.
How can I check if I have a resistor wire in the circuit? I can't see any 'blocks' as described in the instructions. I think that the resistor wire is there to protect the points from excessive voltage and this feature is not required with the Pertronix.
