Well i finished the 88 project now its time to focus on the classic.
well this is my first post in the classic section so let me tell you about the car.... if you don't care just scroll down to the questions.

well i picked up a 1965 fastback gt. i have not decoded the VIN yet but it is a factory gt, maroon, woodgrain style dash, came factory with the ralley pac (which needs rebuilt) 4 speed 289 non hi-po but it came with the 4bbl carb.

thats all i know so far but here are my questions.

i want to spend the money to do a full resto... i really dont need a toy that why i bought the 88.

ill start with the body. i've stripped the interior soon to pull the motor etc.
i need a new floorpan so i want a one peice... also need both doors, and a couple fenders, but the unibody looks good. i dont really want to buy some cheapo body parts and waste time making them fit,

who is producing the best quality body parts for these cars??
If im doing bodywork is there anything else i should replace??
where is the best place to go for other original parts batteries, brackets, interior stuff etc?

thanks in advance for all your help

You should send Mustbereel a private message about your project. He is just finishing a 65fb - much wilder than what you probably want to do, but may have advice concerning what you should be looking for with respect to your question. Basically, however, you will want to strip the paint from what you are not replacing to see what/how repairs have been made. If you have rust in the floorpans (assumed from your post), you must be on the lookout for it elsewhere. The PO, or PO before him, etc., may have made questionable repairs (e.g., fiberglass, thick bondo, etc.).

well i want to replace the floorpans because i can see where someone has welded in metal patches in the floorpan. also the owner before me couldn't find a rear quarter for a FB so he made one fit that was from a coupe and it looks good untill he said that and i looked at it.... its a little weird not bad but i want to replace it before paint
