restoring upper intake

I got a used cobra upper intake off ebay. the inside of it is really dirty. All i have is the upper manifold. Will it work with my stock lower or do i need a new lower. My question is how do i clean the inside and do i have any porting options i should consider. I also want to polish it....does anyone know how to do that?

It's not going to work with your factory lower intake. Might want to check out Almost stocks page for polishing tips. Maybe someone can post a link for ya.

definately will not work w/ your stock lower; the holes are adjacent to each other, while the stock one's are next to each other. You need either a cobra or GT40 lower intake for it to work.

you need a GT-40 lower for your intake. when you find one you could have both of them extrude honed. the only other way that i know of to port your upper is to cut it open.

If you don't have access to a hot tank, you can soak it in bucket of gas for a few hours/overnight and rinse it out with a hose. Or just spray a bunch of carb cleaner in all the runners and tb port and hose it out a bunch of times.
