Ok well I changed my mind quickly enough.... I have now decided that I am going to get the Comp Cams retro fit lifters so that I can use a Hydro Roller Cam instead of a flat tappet... Now my question is What cam and Rockers should I purchase for this combination the motor is a 408 stroker... Im pretty sure that the heads I am going to use are gonna be the AFR 205s (another new idea). I want the power to be up top maybe around 5500-6500 higher if possible. Thanks in advance for the answers.

You are really limited to cams using stock type lifters + cams are expensive. Crane retrofit lifters allow standard cams to be used. Most hr cams are disigned for 302 ci which will work, but if you build that nice a motor, go custom.

agreed.....to further explain, note that Crane makes a link-bar roller lifter that allows the use of a standard base circle cam in the non-roller blocks. You do not have to use the OEM style spyder and dogbone setup with the link bar lifters. It is only when using the OEM style late model ford hyd roller lifters with the spyder that a reduced base circle cam must be used. The selection of reduced base circle cams is rather small, and most are pretty mild because the camshaft itself is too weak to support aggressive lobe designs. The preferred setup is the link bar roller lifters (between $350-400 a set) and choose from the wide selection of standard base circle cams. Whichever route you go, make sure to use springs that match the cam, and make sure they are at the proper installed height.

I went with the crane roller lifters and then had lots of cams to choose from.
I went with the newer 5.0 style cams that use the 5.0 firing order.
