The guy that bought my mustang has failed inspection so I told him to put all the stock parts back on. It now throws codes P2196 and P2198. The best of what I can tell is these are rich O2 sensor readings. My friend says he needs to drive the car at least 60 miles for everything to readjust and the raw gas to burn off the sensors.

We took off the JLT cold air, O/R x-pipe, and returned the tune to stock (from a 93 octane tune). THe factory air box and h pipe were put back on.

Maybe the cats are done, that happened to me when i took all the same pcs of you did for a o/r test pipe, when i reinstalled the factory parts the cats were no longer able to do their job, replaced them with new ones problem solved. PASS...
If the cats sit they get clogged up with crap, sometime if you are lucky you can burn them back in with some freeway miles...

Your mileage may vary...

I finally got mine to pass. I had to remove the SCT tune then drive 200 miles ( 284 for me) and everything in the diagnostic software had reset and it passed so I could get my plates renewed.

The SCT tune turned off certian functions and would not allow Emissions testing. I put my Diablo tune back in after passing this time because it pased emissions before with the Diablo tune in place. ( I actually like the diablo tune better)
