I checked the bulbs, fuse, and transmission plug. Any other ideas?

How did you check the switch at the transmission? these are notorious for going bad.

If you can short the wires together that go onto the terminals of the switch, and if the reverse lights come on, it's the switch.

Unless you replaced it already and still no lights. Then, I dunno.

Actually, I checked to see if the plug was connected. It was. I did not know you could replace the switch. How much does the switch cost?

You can definitely replace the switch. My reverse lights went out about 8 months ago; the switch caused the problem. I had my car fixed under warranty, but I don't think the switch is that expensive.. probably under $20.

Reverse switch under the car. I had the same problem in my 01GT, and they replaced it under warranty.

Like I said - Take the plug off the switch. Put a pair of pliers between the contacts in the plug (i.e. connect the two wires in the plug with a metal object - not the ones on the switch). If the reverse lights come on when you short the wires in the plug to each other, it's the switch. If they don't, it's some other problem.

Ok, I'll do that. I just picked up the switch in Autozone for $18.99. Thanks.

Fixed it! It was the switch that went bad.

That switch seems to go bad every single time the transmission is taken out of the car. I've replaced 2 in my car.
