Riddle me this, Batman

The Bosch 0 580 254 984 fuel pump sold by Steeda claims to support only 500 hp. The exact same pump sold by Accel on Summit claims to support 870 hp. ITS THE EXACT SAME PUMP!!! What gives?

I would think it's closer to steeda's claim for sure. Quite a gap there isn't it. Friggin' summit. If I had an application that high in horsepower I think I would use two pumps anyhow. One to pull one to push. A holley blue and red for instance. :D

Here's the summit description for it:

These powerful ACCEL high pressure electric fuel pumps flow 435 lbs./hr. at 45 psi for engines producing up to 870 hp naturally aspirated, or 725 hp forced induction. ACCEL high pressure electric fuel pumps give you awesome flow from a name you trust--what more could you ask for?

Here's the steeda one:

I have both of these pumps in my hands right now, the numbers match and everything.

Its the exact same pump.......the summit one is actually the bosch sold by accel. Looking at the model numbers, they are the same thing.

Yeah, I got the Steeda one a few weeks ago, and decided I'd need another, found it on summit noticed the difference but figured I wait to see the actual pump, overnighted it, and now i'm looking at them both.

my guess is just what numbers they decided to pick for a certain pressure, the 450-500 is probly for the stock pressure, and the 800 or w/e is prolby at 80psi, its a marketing thing to make it sound bigger.

Ok, I guess I'll just run both of these suckers then. Thanks for clearin things up.....a little. I still got half a mind to go kneecap a couple peeps at Summit though...they also sent me a couple other parts that are NOT what I ordered.

(if you are an employee at Summit, this is not a threat, I was only joking...haha...hehe...don't sue me)
