a guy here will sell me hie 3 week old h&r ss' for $100.00 because it was too low for him, will those springs ride smoother and more compliant than the pro-kits? i have heard that the pro-kits are too harsh and the h&r's are smoother and take bumps better? i was already going to do the coilovers but if these springs give me what i want it looks like heads are in my near future!!!

P.S, i DONT want a harsh ride just something smoother.

For $100, I'll buy them off of him.
I love my h&r ss, they were really low, and they felt better than the eibach sportlines i had in my '92
but don't be fooled, if you're comparing your ride comfort from stock to any aggressive spring, it's going to be rough.

To summarize:
For a 2 inch drop on a car, I will not complain about my springs :nice:

if you want smoother go back you your stock springs, handling springs will only make your ride harsher. It's a sacrifice people are willing to make to handle better.

SS usually run 700lb/in spring rate or more as all of eibach's are progressive

you were asking if they would be smoother riding than the pro-kits.... just using common sense i think the h&r's you are looking at are a little more of a drop so i would guess you are making negative progress if you are looking for a smoother ride than the prokits

I swear people want better handleing and great ride quality. They need to pick one.

I have had eibach prokit springs and bilstien shocks for about 4-5 years and I am super happy with them. Yes it was harsher but I like feeling the road and i think the trade off is worth it.

You don't need to pick between handling and comfort. Get some Bilsteins!

I got the starter suspesion package from Maximum Motorsports (H&R race springs and Bilsteins), and the ride quality is phenominal. I can take bumps and potholes now, and only get a firm, well damped bump. Whereas with the stock springs, the car would wonder a bit more as it recovered, and it would bang and rattle more. Also, speed bumps are no issue now.

In all fairness, my wife might say it's a bit harsher. But then again, she hasn't said anything about it yet.
