what would happin if you put on the wrong 02's?they did fit.car does run.friends car is running rich.the more he drives the worst it gets.no power at all.you can floor it and nothing.barlly moves.his 02's were bad for awile before he put these others on.any idea's?

i dont think they would fit. that sounds like a deeper problem than just O2 sensors. when was the last time it had a "tune up" new spark plugs, fuel filter, clean throttle body, new/re oiled air filter? also there might be low fuel pressure which would result from a bad fuel pump, or even the filter. what ones did he put in? i would personally only used Bosch or Motorcraft, i think they are identical ie bosch makes motorcraft same with autolite making the motorcraft plugs. if you got ones made for a different vehicle, i still dont think it would work because the connector should be slightly different, or else he was given the wrong ones at teh parts counter, then its either his fault for giving them the wrong information, or their fault for giving him the wrong ones, ultimately his fault though for installing the wrong ones. i always compare parts before i install them.

ya clean off the wires on the mass air, i use a bottle of electrical contact cleaner if its out of hte vehicle or else some non-residue brake cleaner if in the vehicle. also try running some fuel injector cleaner through the engine, maybe use something like SeaFoam.

the MAF is the main metering device for incoming air. the computer uses the front O2 sensors to moniter the air/fuel ratio. there is a common problem on fords where if the MAF is dirty, it will cause full rich or full lean codes for both O2 sensors. usually people just replace them, but its worth trying to clean it to see if there are better results.
