This question is common and I've checked similar threads but I would appreciate any input. I'm planning on my next mod - a new set of rims. I have a '95GT with stock 17in x 8 rims. I want to buy a set of 17x9 Ford Racing with a set of 255/40R17. Would i have any clearance problems with this upgrade? I currently have a MAC catback and eventually I'll lower the car an inch. Would my speedo/rpm be affected? Are wheel spacers necessary? Should I be concerned with backspacing?
Thank again for your help

Mods: BBK l/t, h-pipe w/cats, Mac cat back, pro5.0 shifter, 3.73 gears

255/40 would look kind of "rubber bandy" on there and may cause some ground clearance issues.

I would either use 255/45 all around or 275/40 all around.

Depends on the tire or backspacing. On my front 9 inchers I'm running Nitto 555's in 255/45/17 and it rubs before full lock.
