ok i have enough for rims and was wanting some aluminum/chrome bullitts.

if i went with a wider tire in back and skinner in front, would that hurt my handeling/speed/anything?

Skinny front tires will mean very limited traction in a turn. If you want that look, then you gotta pay the price. Get something in a size that will let you keep your handling. On the street, you'll be glad to have it!!

so what do you think about 17 x 7's all the way around with some nice low profile tires...

Just my opinion, but I think that would be GREAT! No worries about rubbing and it should provide very good handling. PICS!! when done!!

Your choices are wide open. It all depends on what style you like. You mentioned the Bullit style, that would look fine. Or just look at pics of Mustangs on the web and find a style that looks right with your combo. When it comes time to buy, check with the guys that sponsor this site or for a start,go here:

I personally don't like the look of 17s on our cars. I perfer the look of a 15 and a nice fat tire, and I've seen 15s for sale up to 8" wide, which I think is plenty unless you're going to be drag racing.

I'm currently running 195/60/15 up front and 225/60/15 in the rear. A skinnier tire in the front will give you less surface area and thus less available frictional force with which to turn the car and/or brake. So the skinnier your tires are up front the more understeer your car will have while cornering and the worse your car will brake. I personally find that 195 up front is plenty of traction for my driving habits, although you may decide differently. It's all up to your tastes in the end, after all

I have skinnier in the front (but no skinnies )

235 45 17 in the front and 255 40 17 in the rear. Handles great

I personally like the look of offset rim sizes front to back... like 17x7 on the back and 16x6 on the front. I think it gives the car a very nice aggressive stance.

17x8 4.5 to 4.75 BS will let you 'plug and play'.

Sounds like it from what dodgestang said. I'm no expert but it's the rim width and backspacing that gets most people in trouble. 8" wide is probably about the limit without trimming or very careful measurment.
