hey all,

i finally might be getting a 66 coupe, and i am wondering how wide of a rim i can put on it w/o doing any modifications. would a 7" rim be too wide?

7" all the way around. I'm running 15x7 on the '65 with no drop/raise. 215/60r15 rubber and only close point is at front of front tire at the bottom of the fender. About 1/4" clearance at closest point. You're fine

You can put a 17x8 w/ 4.75 bs as that is what i'm running on my 65 w/ stock
front suspension and 1" lowering blocks out back, i run a 225/45/17 front and
255/40/17 rear Kumho tire, I have no rubbing on front or back...rolled fender lips

I also have 17x8 all around. 4.5 bs with lowered front and rear. Lips aren't rolled, they probably should be though.
