IMO plug threads should get anti seize. It's cheap insurance, seized threads really suck!!

Not needed UNLESS you have aluminum heads.

It could be greatly reduced. He could check for steam out the tail pipe, or look for bubbles in the radiator.

You already have forged rods. Better rods may have been a better question. As for the crank, the stock Ford cast ones are tougher than many now a days give them credit for. The only ones to avoid are the early 50oz/in cranks, they did have a habit of breaking in half.

I recommend using anti seize on any threads that you aren't already putting threadlocker on. Things may be very different in dry areas, but here everything corrodes, even when it's garaged and only driven on nice days.

I don't mind working on stuff, but if I don't pull my plugs for 2-3 years, I want them to still come out!

Well now that may be a different story. I normally pull the plugs once or twice a year to check them out. Normal specs from the day said to replace plugs at 12,000 miles. If plugs are "abandoned" in a humid invironment, anything is posible.

yes it is possible that a blown head gasket will cause low or no compression depends how blown it is. also there are different ways in which a head gasket can fail. causing different problems. such as anti freeze in oil, hydrocarbons in antifreeze, loss of compression in one or more cyl. due to a blow out btwn cyl. or on the end not near a water passage.
