I just read the article. I watched this video. I will say this guys if you havent seen it yet. Its pretty brutal. The poor guy didnt know what hit him.
So sad. My sympathy goes out to him and the family.
Yup, we were track side when it happened and knew it wasn't going to be good. Went to the trailer after and seeing the family together huddled around crying was something else. Truly sad to see it. Kinda sucked they didn't announce anything, I actually found out from a friend who knows some safety people.
I'm also hearing rumors that an ESPN cameraman might have lost his life too. The one in the crane at the sand pit. As it stands it is only a rumor, but the thought of it is terrible
You guys see Robert Hight take the solo run, he would have been running agaist Kalitta and he just let it out and rolled down the track. Very classy move, my wife was in tears. I was planning on going down there today but the weather looked questionable so I figured I'd save the $100 drive. Wish i would have gone just to see that run.
Wasn't down there today... my friend snagged this picture from the DHL trailer right after it happened. John Force is in the white hat talking to a bunch of Prostock drivers and friends of the family.
