hey i found my problem. the small snap/retaining ring holding the 5th gear drive gear( small one) snapped and the gear slid back on the mainshaft. all of this is in the tailhousing.

a simple fix for sure but i duno where to get the part.

i also need i think a 4th gear blocker. my 4th gear grinds. and i think it should be easy also.

can someone link me to the parts???

Go to hanlonmotorsports.com and call their number they have listed on the site. They are awesome and will help you with anything you need. They have been a big help to me in my quest to start rebuilding T5s.

Contact Lester's Gears in Tulsa...don't have the number handy, but, it should be easy to find. They are closed on Sunday's..your local Orielly's/Autozone/parts house should be able to get the stuff you need from them.

Roland, did that transmission come out of a camaro? The ID tag says it came from an 84 1/2 camaro or firebird. I'd offer you some money for it, but I think shipping from canada to Georgia would be outrageous and totaly not worth it. Im trying to stock pile old T5s so I can rebuild and sell them.

Yup, that's a GM-spec NON-World Class T-5. It's totally useless in a Mustang. You can notice that the tailhousing has the shifter location pushed back a tad. In a Mustang it won't line up with the shifter hole. A few parts would need changing to make it work.

It does have some parts in common with a WC Mustang trans, but not many.

it is from a Camaro but all you need to do is bolt the mustang tail shaft on cause the gear box is the same.

I was trying to give it away cause I have no need for it. I let a friend try it in his chevy truck but the tranny in his right now is a side loader and he is lazy and dosn't want to make it work. I am going to pick it up and maby rip it apart just to see how hard they would be to rebuild but if someone can use it they are welcome to it.
