Build Thread "Rising from Ashes" 94 Cobra build thread

More progress on the old Mustang... Dont mind the valve cover and timing pointer, they are just temporary.

Still need to detail the supercharger and alternator, but threw them on, just for fun.

I'm thinking about polishing the alternator and supercharger, but haven't decided.

I think it would go with the theme. You said you weren't going to use those valve covers? If not, what are you going to go with? I think that would be the deciding factor. :) Awesome work, love when I see some progress. Thanks for updating.

Thanks man!

The valve covers will be gloss black powder coat with polished ribs to go with the upper intake. I should have them done this week.

I think It would look cool if you powdercoated the alternator black as well and polished just the supercharger. Make it stand out from the rest. But as with the rest of your progress it really doesn't matter what you do its going to turn out amazing.

you can powder coat the alt and charger in chrome...I did to my alt and it came out great.

Thanks! and good suggestions, really like the powder coated alternator.

All I got done yesterday was adding the power steering bracket.

wow that looks really nice

Thanks!

I got the headers on last night. They are 1 and 3/4 long tubes off my old car. They were originally chrome but I re did them in ceramic which looks better IMHO.

I used the stage 8 locking header bolts which turned a 30 minute job into an hour and a half job. But they they will never back out. Just dread ever having to unbolt because it will be a big pain.

Chrome turns blue so ceramic is the way too go. I've owned several exhaust systems for my 94 and the MAC 1-3/4" Long Tubes with 3" collector in ceramic were by far the best money spent.
Yep I learned that the hard which is way I just went ahead and invested in the setup to do my own ceramic coating. My entire exhaust will be ceramic coated once I get it built to fit around my torque arm.

What are the heads and intake on it
95steeda stage 3 ported/milled Victor Jrs. and port matched Performer II intake.

Pretty stout
Thanks!

Well got some good progress on the Mustang.

I got some polishing done on the ribs to kind of get an idea of what I want it to look like.

I really liked this roush shift handle but hated the finish, so I powdercoated it too.

Thats about it. I need parts and then I can start putting together the rear end.

How did you bolt up that shifter handle? I bought the UPR rock crusher, and the bolt holes didnt match up to my B&M Pro Ripper handle. I then bought the Roush handle you have, and it has the exact same bolt holes as the UPR handle. You seem to have some sort of bracket around yours... What did you do there to make it work?

The holes lined up for me. I used the roush shifer handle on a hurst shifter, then this tremec tko shifter. I did modify the stock t-5 handle bracket to go over it, but its really not needed. I have had to drill and tap shifters in the past to make them work.

Got my valve cover done and its starting to look like an engine. I wont have any progress next week, as I have another project coming in.

Hey man cars looking great, your attention to detail is second to none. But i thougth you said you werent going to make this car a show car so you could drive it more. From what I've seen it seems more like a show car than a driver.

I put Stage 8s on my buddies Cobra, and two of them still backed out. That was with 1 5/8" headers though.

Thanks, it may look like show car, but it will never be a garage or trailer queen. It will be driven:D
