Those patterned seats are so nineties—in a good way. Reminds me of the seats I saw in a lot of '90s VWs when I was in Germany.

That is what I like about my stock seats. They have a plaid pattern to them. I would need Kevin's Recaros covered in a stock fabric to fully appreciate it.

That’s easy enough. Have to be “period correct”.

Find a way to cover Recaros in this, and give me about 2 years to pay you for it, and we have a deal!

I’ve shipped them from Thailand, Japan, all over the US and Canada. And as close as 10 miles from me which is the case with the red and black recaros which were originally out of a 82 trans am pace car.

He's like 'recaros are us' (or 'him' in this case)
On the recaro subject, does the 84 svo have recaros?
If so what would they be worth in 'decent' shape?

84 Svo seats are not recaros. But as far as a used set. I usually pay an average of $200 for a good set of cores to build and redo. Such as these

I assume you stitch up the new covers yourself, but where do you get replacement parts and foam for the Recaros?

It's funny you say you pay $200 for a rebuildable set... There is a guy somewhat local to me that has been trying to sell a set on CL for months for $500 and they look like they've been through a nuclear holocaust.

I stitch new covers and usually repair the foam or pattern it like the covers and make my own to replace. There are places overseas that sell replacement foam as well, but I’ve found it works better for me to just cut my own. $500 is way too much. I can get nice sets all day for that...that don’t need new foam.

If one were to want a set of refinished recaros... roughly what would that run? (asking for a friend)

It all depends on material. Cloth/syn leather would be the $1,200$1,500 range. Leather could be anywhere from $1,500 to $4000 depending of course on type of leather. Suede is also a different price.
