Rising Temps, and no heat.......

when my car temp gage says the car is warm, i turn on the heat and it will blow out cold air. then the temp gauge rises almost to the red and then it starts to fall and then heat comes out. it will do this 1-2 times and the its fine anyone have any ideas? I heard it could be the head gasket(s).

If your coolant level is low, when the thermostat opens the level in the intake drops a bit. The sensor which is in the intake will read high due to hot air and not coolant. I would check the coolant level and burp the system to get all the air out.

yea its probably an air pocket, make sure none of the hoses have cuts on them and you not leaking drops of water...thats what happened to me last week....

Sounds like the thermostat is sticking as well.
