i got my engine together on a stand and now everyone says to not reuse the old bolts its a 93 model and the stock motor had about 120,000 miles. i just installed new piston rings and stayed with stock rods and crank what do you think.
yea, I've never reused OEM bolts..ever. It's an easy fix and good insurance to install ARP's throughout...especially the rod bolts. The OEM bolts stretch and once removed, I throw 'em in the trash.
You should have no issues reusing the stock rod bolts (asssuming you don't plan on running sustained high rpms). Just check to ensure they haven't been stretched past tolerance and re-use them.
If you do plan on replacing them, you'll have to press out the old ones and have the rod ends resized to accept the larger arp bolts.
