Well I was at the Rolex 6 hour Sports car Race at Mont Tremblant on May 23rd and had a great time. The GTP class allows the running of Mustangs (none present), Porches (plenty), Corvettes and the likes of. It was a great day, we had complete run of the pits, access to the drivers and great views from all the way around the track.
To my amazement the Rolex Cup races use a Focus SVT as the Pace car, it was very nice looking and seemed to perform well although very quiet by all noise standards around this race track. The back-up Pace car was a genuine Mustang Cobra R, this intrigued me the most. It was real nice, picture attached.
Prior to the race a few lucky folks were treated to rides around the track in the Pace cars, I tried my best to get a ride but it was not to happen. It seems that some of the big sponsors were taking care of the special client group. In any case it was a great day.
For anyone in this area, I would highly recommend taking in one of these events. This Rolex Race was a big one and was aired live on Speed Channel. Just a point of interest is that there was hardly any spectators at the track, Go Figure!
