Roll Bar for 06 GT

I have an 06 GT coupe that is going to start seeing quite a bit of track time but is still a daily driver. I don't need it, but I feel that if I'm going to track the car in any manner, I'd like to have some sort of cage in it. Really, I show the car more than track it, and with all the stereo mods, by the time I'm done, I don't see it running any faster than mid to low 11s, and that is quite a ways down the road. But the cage is a nice safety thing. But since the car is still my DD and I DO like to show it, I'm looking for a pretty minimal cage/roll bar that isn't too hard to put in, doesn't destroy my interior, and will allow the use of harnesses. I looked at the maximum motorsports option, but it seems like there is a LOT of cutting of interior plastic and i think it might be a little more cage than what I need. Any other options? I know I could get one built, but I have NO idea where to go or how to get what i want when going that route, plus I'd like to not have to weld in the car (keep it looking nice on the inside). Be sure to read the 2010 NHRA Rulebook for rollcage requirements before you spend a lot of money on a cage that might look good, but not pass tech inspection. Currently, you don't "need" a cage until your run quicker than 11.50 in the 1/4 mile, but I agree that it's good safety measure.

Do the cage requirements for 11.50 include non-removeable door bars? That's one of the biggest things I want to stay away from.

The door bars can be removable until a full cage is required, then they have to be fixed. The best pre made roll bar that I have found is the one from Wolfe Racecraft. Wolfe Race Craft - Product Catalog The Wolf can be purchased bolt in or weld in and requires the least in interior cutting. Removable door bars are an option, as well as other options. If you are not going to get a custom built setup you can't go wrong with the Wolfe bar.

The newest the Wolfe one is for is the SN-95, it doesn't have an option for the S197...

Wow, that's clean! I really like it, unfortunately, as far as pre made, I think I'm stuck with the MM cage. The wolfe one is clean, but I don't want door bars since it's a DD, and with the trunk stuffed full of stereo stuff, the MM one will let me keep that the same where as the wolfe bar would interfere. Great find though!

It's not NHRA legal without at least a door bar on the drivers side. You can make the door bar removable so you just put it in when you go to the track. The MM bar really cuts up the interior too much for me. I am getting this bar but I plan to modify the rear bars and run them straight back at the joint where the rear seat folds down. Then I don't have to cut up the package tray and they will take up less space in the trunk. My car is also a DD and I want the bar for safety but don't want it intrusive for every day use. I will order the swing out door bars and just remove them for the street and cover the end post with these Wolfe Race Craft - Detail . If you can find someone that has the MM bar and see an installed version I think you will see that it just cuts up the inside way too much.

The other option is the AutoPower bar and have the rear bars welded in place to make it legal but I don't really like that bar.
