Heres the basics this motor is still on the stand, 95 302 HO block, stock heads freshend up and a little port work an F303 cam. I recently bought a set of the ANGUS brand 1.6 pedestal roller rockers and installed them on my motor reusing the stock lifters, and pushrods. I noticed after torqueing to spec that alot of them had way excessive lash. So I figured it was cause the motor sat dry on the stand for a little bit. So I bought an oil pump primming tool, primmed the motor till I saw oil come out of the top of the rocker and there was still a ton of lash on about 6-8 of them. When I say excessive its like you can see daylight around 1/16", like spark plug gap. I remounted the stock rockers and none what so ever. What is going on here?????? These rockers are extruded aluminum so I doubt the forming on the is bad. Its not just intake or exhaust, or certain cylinders Ive swapped around more times than I can count. Im getting ready to send these back...Has anyone ever heard of this before???

Any time you change any part that either is a part of or can affect your valve train geometry, such as heads, rockers, etc...it is really advisable to double check your pushrod length. Your scenario with the new rockers sounds like either your pushrods are too short or you need to install a shim kit.

I had the same probablem with my 1.7s. If you shim them that will make the lash worst. Under the rocker the is a pedestal you have to either get a set that is shorter or you have to grind some off of your. I had a few set laying around so i just sway them around untill i got the lash where it need to be.I will post a pic of the pedestal thing im talking about.
