Roller Rockers Do they Make alot of taping sounds ?

Do roller rockers make more Noise then Hydrolic ? Just started the new engine sounds Great except the rockers are makeing a taping sound ? Is that the way or do they need adjustment

Are they hydraulic roller rockers or solid roller rockers or mechanical roller rockers?

Uh, roller rockers are roller rockers no such animal as a hyd roller rocker or a solid roller rocker maybe you meant lifters? If you rockers are making noise they might need adjustment, but as far as them being a roller rocker and making noise because of them being a roller rocker they are not going to make any more noise if not less then a regular rocker arm.

do you adjust them any different? they are hydrolic Rollers. What about the CAM could the 270H roller Cam be makeing them slap shut faster there fore i get the tap noise ?

When you adjust a hyd lifter whether it is a roller or not the adjustment procedure is the same as with a stock type hydr lifter. If you increased your spring rate(valve springs) this could have increased valvetrain noise.

Fastcoupe....duh, slap me.....You are 100% correct. I read it too fast...was thinking of lifters.


Your hydraulic lifters are self adjusting and should NOT be slapping shut.

yes the springs were matched to the Cam from COMP Cam. they are double springs.

The only thing that might be making noise if everything is correctly adjusted is the valves closing due to increased valve spring pessure. You should not be hearing noise from your rockers.

You dont adjust lifters.

Roller rocker arms will make more noise than stamped steel.
