I am putting a cam in my new motor. Its not gonna be a radical grind or anything. Do I have to buy new fancy roller rockers or will it work ok with the stock ones for right now. I just dont want to spend $250 right now for stuff that isn't necessary. I want the motor in the car running first, then I can add to it.

i posted a reply once but it didnt put it up..............POS board...............like i said you can use em they arnt roller.............so you WILL gain when you do change em just degree the cam. what is the lift/duration?

Im not too sure yet. I am on a pretty tight budget so I probably will be going with an over the shelf cam. I am thinking the E303 for now. I posted another thread asking about my shortblock that is in the car. It has 93k miles on it and it burns oil. I wish I could use the stock shortblock but I don't know if the rings are bad. The car burns a little oil at idle, but when you rev it up it dumps blue smoke out. Are those symptoms of rings, or valve seals or what?

Maybe you could help me with this too: I am pretty much set on the E303 cam. I was planning on buying OE ford lifters. I am using the GT40P heads and probably the stock rockers off of my 40k mile GT40 motor. Do I need special pushrods or will stock length hardened ones work.

Thanks,
Joey
