Well, I want to install a set of roller rockers on my car, but I can't use them with the '71 heads on my car without modification. Are there any later year heads that would work? I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for aftermarket heads, I just plan on porting a stock set of heads with new valvesprings and roller rockers. Would '86 heads work?

I would think it necessasary to know what rockers you have.

Of course everyone will tell you to get a set of E7TEs .....

Unless your hard pressed for full roller aluminum units, there are steel roller tip rockers available from Crane and Competition Cams that are speciffically designed to run w/o guideplates for the early non-guideplate ford heads. They have little tangs on each side of the roller (just like the OE rockers do) to keep them aligned. I've run the Comp cams roller tip rockers on several engines- Yery nice products! :nice:
