I'm going to repaint my 67 coupe and i've taken the roof rail w/s molding off and there's some kind of adhesive tape under it. Its torn up and i would like to replace it, but i'm not sure what its called or where to get it. Any info greatly appreciated.

Weatherstrip Set,Roof Rail 67/68 Coupe

Thats what I see in my parts catalog. As far as adhesive, I would just go with the Weatherstrip adhesive from 3M. If you find something specific for it, let me know... I plan to put new ones on my car too later in the fall.

I just yanked mine off for paint too. There's weatherstrip (readily available) a stainless channel or run for the stripping to rest in, and under that about a 1" wide, 1/8 inch thick double sided adhesive tape. I think that's what the question is about.
I'm not sure where to find replacements either, but I'm guessing a 3M dealer would have somethign comparable.
