rotating maf

+I have a densecharger intake and to get the maf to line up I used a sawzaw and cut the flanged part of the maf off, turned it 1/4 to the fender and re-expoxyed the body back on. I also before doing that gutted the maf, ny this I took out the sensor and completely removed the sensing pole in the center and smoothed it all out. I did notice a increase in hp but unsure on how much.
 
I just cut the post out, ported it smooth and ditched the screen, the car picked up nicely and even added 300rpm to the powerband

I'm thinking I can "tune" it a little bit, my original thoguhts were that this was just fo just for better drivibilty(I dont have any probs) but it sounds like clocking toward the valve cover makes it rich and toward the fender makes it lean
