I just purchased a 2000 GT Convertible. Car is in excellant condition and engine runs smooth. I test drove the car on highway and strees near dealer, with no discernable problems. However, when I drive on my typical route which is full of man hole covers and patches in the black top, the car feels like
it is running over a brick street. Sometimes feel like it is going to throw me out of the seat. The front end shakes and the vibration transmits right through the drivers seat. I had the car aligned, but no effect.
I am running 245/45/17 front and back and they are inflated to 35 psi (max 44 psi). My 2000 V6 had no problem on the same streets. I could feel the bumps but they did not shake and vibrate the whole car.
Any body have a suggestion or solution?

are the shocks ok? they would be my first thing to check. how many miles?
I am not sure of the shocks? I push on the back and it does depress and bounce back up without a lot of effort. The front seems stiff and is hard to push down. The car has 59,000. miles on it.
If I replace shocks/struts, what would be a good recommendation. I do not race or bring this car to drag strip... Car is daily driver and would prefer comfort over extreme performance.
