now that im picking up my stang on saturday i wanna add my first mod,
because i really dont like the stock V6 wheels i would like to get nice rims with new tires.
my dealer says that he could get the 2005 roush mustang wheels at a good price for me, ive seen pics of them and thought they were pretty nice. im not a big fan of the bullits either soo... im just not sure if the 18's will look to small, according to my dealer tey are 18 by 10 inch wheels.
any comments on these wheels would be greatly appreciated
thanks a lott.

p.s. if any1 have any other wheel reccomendations that would be cool also

I say go for it.. Those are nice wheels.. When the wheels are chromed, you never have to worry about hand polishing them 3 times a year.. Those Roush wheels are sweet... Plus the back are 10".. Trust me, your v6 will look really nice!! You have good taste man.. I never thought of going with the Roush wheels..

Be nice if he could get you a deal on the Roush Exterior kit.. Your V6 would look nuts..

I think very soon, Roush will release a V6 Roush Stang.. If the price equals that of a GT, it will be well worth it!! I think the future is really bright for the V6 stangs.. Just put some gas in the tank today, and paid $2.89 for regular unleaded..

I think the GT is going to be sidelined real quick by people who need the car for daily commuting.. Understand that the GT with all the component options is the absolute better deal, but with higher insurance prices, the gas prices, and just having the V8 badge, most will opt for the V6, which is similar or slightly faster than a 5.0 Stang.. Of course this will push the cost of the GT down over time, but who knows... I do know that the V6 is considered a smart buy over the GT, based on performance numbers.. (when you factor in insurance and gas prices along with the numbers).. LOL!! Dont want GT guys to flame..

GT guys

I said the GT is the absolute better deal.. But the world is becoming a different place with high gas prices.. This kind of situation is going to lead to Supercharged V6's from Ford, or maybe even Turbo charged, single and Twin... The V6 Stangs have a bright future..

I average between 26-28 MPG in my GT while on the highway doing between 65-70. If I crank it up to 80, i'll average between 24-26. Theres not that much of a difference in fuel economy between the V6 & GT.

A Roush V6 @ the same price of a GT ='s "well worth it"?

Dont get me wrong, but the V6's are great cars. I just dont get people who buy them, then get on these forums and start dumping money in them to make them look like GT's and attempt to get them as quick as GT's. Why didnt you just go and buy a GT? But, to each his own...

Yes, I understand how you feel.. I have always owned V8 Mustangs.. Never would have even considered the V6 if not for the test drive.. When I went to get my stang, I went for a Red GT.. Looked all over for the Red GT 5Spd..

Test drove the GT, and thought it was sick.. When I got back from the test drive, understand my financing was already done on the Red GT, because I did it over the internet and got pre-approved for the Red GT.. Anyways, on my way back to the finance office, another salesman with a customer started up a green V6, that the dealer put a custom dual exhaust on..

I asked my salesman, what is that? You said that was a V6.. He said it is, and thus hear I am..

So all of us Mustang guys whether V6 or GT are V8 Stangers by nature.. Somehow, the 05 V6 Stang, appeals to alot of us.. Didnt mean to offend any GT guys.. Like I said, I was already pre-approved on the Red 05 GT 5Spd, when I went to the dealer..

I just wanted to add, that in a space of about 5 seconds, I would have been a member at this website staunchly defending the GT like alot of guys.. If it had not been for the other salesman, starting up the 05-V6 with a custom dual exhaust, I would be a GT owner.. So after I heard the car, I asked to test drive one.. The test drive was first done in an automatic V6.. Thought it felt pretty good.. Then I asked to test drive a 5spd, and when I got back, I already knew this is for me.. So its not that I set out to own a V6 Stang.. Its that a V6 Stang set out to own me!

Since you guys are discussing V6's, I'd like to add my two cents if I may. I was driving home from work the other day, and thinking about it, I just don't see anything wrong with someone buying a V6 and fixing it up as they please. That still does not mean that they are 'trying to make it a GT', as some people keep saying.

If I were smart, I'd have bought a V6 by now, but I keep getting caught up in this 'gotta have a GT' faze, which I may still do. But it's a shame that I worry too much about what other people think, and don't just do what I want. Sure, I'd miss the throaty noise and rumble of the V8. But I could still try to get my V6 sounding better I suppose.

I do too much 'light' racing as it is, while I'm not really a serious racer, as a lot of guys on this board are. That doesn't make me a wimp, though. (If I'm a wimp, it's because of other things! )

But on the wheels, to me they're a bit overstated for a V6. Not that V6's shouldn't be flashy. They just seem too much, unless you can make the rest of the car match the wheels. I think the bullets or whatever they're called that I think I've seen on the 'pony edition' look good on a V6. But that's JMHO.

Very rspectable post Merlin! Yes, believe me had you told me 1 1/2 years ago I would be getting a V6 and not the GT, I would have had a fit.. For me, the V6 situation fit in at the very last phase of my deal.. Like I said, I drove the GT I came down to get, because they wont let you sign until you have driven the car.. Had it not been for the other salesman starting up a V6 that just so happen to have an aftermarket dual exhaust, put on by the dealer, I would be a GT owner.. I dont think most V6 owners actually went down to get a V6.. Its just one of those things ya know.. I think once most 05 GT guys realize that the 05-V6 is equal to or slightly better than the 87-94 5.0 Mustangs, they will start to ease up on the stereo type..

For most, what its going to take is for them to race a 05-V6 with a 100 Shot of Nitrous.. They will die a bloody death to an 05V6 with this setup.. Then they will understand the potential.. Its going to be a tough lesson for some, who are die-hard 05V6 haters.. But it is a lesson that must be learned.. Dont bite the hand that feeds you.. In the GT's case, its the V6's that actually make it all possible..

So to all the GT guys, show some type of respect to an 05 or 06V6, if you see one.. Because if your bone stock, and the V6 happens to be squeezin even a 75Shot of Nitrous, there is no way you will live the defeat down.. You may do something you'll regret to your GT for losing to a V6.. You must understand, that the V6 was designed right on the edge of domination.. Its about 1.5sec to getting into your azz..!! LOL!! Thats if your running a stock GT.. V6 guys dont have to invest much to beat a GT in a straight line.. Straight lines are all that matters.. You wont find guys doing road racing because the cost of a ticket is too high..

LOL!! Thats what I thought... No response on this subject from anyone who owns a GT.. LOL!! See, thats why everyone here should be considered equals that took different approaches to performance on the 05 ++ Mustangs GT or V6..

So this is what this leads to.. The next guy who orders a V6 on the X-Plan, or whatever plan, make sure you order your V6 with the 8.8 rear-end.. Maybe someone can answer this question.. Is it possible to order a V6 with the 8.8 rearend?

LOL!! Yeah your right BigCat!! I dont want the GT guys to jump all over me on this. Just wanted them to know, that the V6 will make them proud eventually! LOL! Hopefully, once they all wake up and get a chance to see the post, we can keep the debate civil.. No name calling.. LOL!! But I doubt it..

Seriously guys, no name calling... Its all to the good of the Stangs period.
