Hi I just got a 4.6L 08 mustang and i'm looking for a good cold air intake
I found one that says 8.94 HP @5207 RPM and the other one that says 15.26 HP @ 6000 RPM.(K&N intake both of them)
what's their difference and which one do you think is better?

NONE go on to Brenspeed or Bamachips website, look at there Tuner Cold air intake combo they all range from 545 to 600 bucks but your looking at 20+ hp and you have a nice custom tune from a great company and a tuner !! I got mine from brenspeed and Ive NEVER been happier !

You definitely want to get a tuner with an intake. Don't get the K&N. There's so many more that flow more. I would go with C&L Racer, JLT II, or Demolet.

Why ask got it right, different cai with a good tune is the way. However, to answer your question, I believe the one that gives you 15 hp is not street legal according to k&n.

Don't get the K&N, much better stuff out there.

Like I've said three times tonight ... My personal recomendation is a VMP 93 octane tune with a Xcal2 and a C&L with 88mm maf tube. Justin with VMPTuning.com sells that intake set-up and great tunes. I've seen the best numbers with this set-up so that's why I went with it and I'll recommend it to everyone.

if you can post in this forum you can install a cai. but like everyone else said, get the tuner/cai combo from a reputable dealer to maximize your gains and NOT k&n

what is computer code?
Modifcations and tune requests ????
Rearend Gears?? and what is the octane stuff in the custom tune selection?

So easy to install, even a Corvette owner can do it. Usually floor mats are the extent of our install ability.

Open up your hood and look in front of the battery. To the right of the fuse box, you'll see the ECM. There should be a sticker on it with a 4 character code. That's your computer code.

You'll need to advise them of any modifications that you've made to your vehicle, including tire size changes if you've purchased different wheels and tires that are not stock. If you haven't done anything, just list the CAI that you'll be purchasing. You'll want to list the make and model.

For gears, you'll need to know which ones you have. Since you have an '08, you have 3.31 unless you paid for the 3.55's, which you'll see on your window sticker. You can also confirm your gears by looking at the "pumpkin" on the rear end. There will be a sticker with the gear ratio on it.

The octane is complete personal choice. I run 93 octane performance tunes in both of mine, but it's totally up to you. For the best performance, I would not go lower than 89 octane.

The next time you fill up, let the tank get very low, and fill up half the tank with the fuel you are going to be using with the tune. By the time that tank gets empty, your new tuner and CAI should be there. Fill all the way up with the proper fuel, then install.

Is there a difference between octane performance and octane gas mileage??

One is a performance tune for that grade of gasoline. The other is a gas mileage tune geared towards getting better gas mileage. It's got the same WOT power but it's definitely not go the same part throttle power. Justin is a great tuner and you'll be very happy you went with him. I'd get the same intake as me from him as well. C&L with 88mm maf tube. It puts down awesome numbers.
