Does anybody know anything about Renton Technical College? I get out of the Navy in about a year and a half and I was think about doing their automotive program or welding program when I get out. I like the area and want to stay here if I find a good school to go to. Thanks.

if you wanna go to a tech school for automotive..check out Clover Park...its in Tacoma/Lakewood...all new equipment. I went there for auto body/paint and the equipment there is better than most any shop around. The auto tech/mechanic is pretty nice as well. Ill tell ya this though working on cars everyday will make you not like cars as a hobby after awhile.

That's what I was thinking. I'm thinking of doing the welding thing instead.

Our car club, SVTOA/Seattle, gives a $1000 annual scholarship to the Ford ASSET Program at Renton Techical College in the name of Ric Kolb. Ric was a founding member of the club and passed away two years ago. ASSET is a 2-year program that is sponsored by Ford and when you graduate you have a job as a tech at a Ford dealer and an ASE Master certification. Most graduates walk right into $45k+ jobs.
