Roush rubber wheel gaskets

Why did saleen add those thin sculptured rubber gaskets to the (inside) lip of the wheel...where it bolts up?

Dan,

Those are Speedline parts. You are talking about the magnesium wheels, right?
Magnesium reacts with steel creating that white efflorescence you see in your wheel cap. That rubber doughnut is there to minimize it.
