Im considering a 94-95 GT as my next car. What will it need to run with an LT1 Z28(which is what my previous car was)?

Right now this is what Im thinking.

MAF
Edlebrock Performer RPM intake
Steeda CAI
Long Tube headers
Magnaflow OR H-pipe
Magnaflow catback
2800rpm stall converter
shift kit
17x9.5 Bullett wheels with Nitto 555Rs

What kind of times do you think that will bring in? A LT1 Z28 auto can pull in high 13s stock(seen it multiple times).

I figured that. I dont really want anything as high as 3.73s. Im thinking 3.42s. While this wont be my daily driver it will probably see quite a bit of highway driving.

Edit: Also, any suggestions on where to get parts from? Preferably an internet site.

Thanks.

:nice:

You may want to try 3:55's. I have never heard of 3:42 for an 8.8.
I could be wrong though?

I can stay right with the stock auto LT1's at the 1/8 mile, depending on traction. Not sure about the 1/4.

3.73's
Mac pro chamber w/dynomax super turbo dumps
suspension

hey man, last nite i was at chevron and some guy with a lt1 asked me if i wanted to race. he sayed hed put $50 down and that his car was completly stock. then he started saying that hell take my car from a roll or a stop but he wanted to race from 30 mph. he kept raising the bet and it started to freak me out even though he said his car was completly stock so i said i didnt have any money. were at the light and i light my tires up because i thought i would need all i could get since he was talking sooo much trash. light turns green and it was even close, kill his car off the line and by the time i hit 90 i put 4 cars on him so i slowed down. he pulled up and worded out "dam thats a fast mustang" my car runs a 13.8 so its not incredibly fast but this lt1 had no chance. he then told me that he had 3.27's(isnt that stock on camaros?) and a flowmaster cat-back. all i got is the cobra manifold and DR's and 373s and some boltons. should have tooken him up on that bet but he was talking so much trash about mustangs and how his car smokes them daily i wimped out. oh well

Anything less than 4.10s is going to be a waste of money if its an auto.
I agree. :nice:
I had an auto in my 86 and I tried 3:73's first, and when I finally ended up with 4:10's I was pissed I didn't do them first!

But he does a lot of highway driving he said. If I remember correctly, I think I was at about 3500 rpm @ 85 mph.

LT1s can be fast. My 95 Z/28 went [email protected] bone stock, it was an auto with 3.23s. When I used to race it vs my 95 GT which at the time had 3.73s and full exhuast, they were usually close till I went into 3rd in the GT, then the Z would walk away. It took a cam and a lower intake for them to run even on the street, and the Mustang got better times at the track.

dont underestimate an lt1
yes there are slow ones, BUT

My friends went-

A. 13.4 at 104 in a stock 97 aviversery SS with slp options

B. 13.5 at 105 with exhaust and intake, I ran this guy form a roll and I only pulled 2 cars to 120

C. one with an auto went 14.0 at 100 with a cutout only

some peopel need to be realistic about how quick they are. you guys beat the driver not the car most likely, because I see 9X traps in yoru sig and that aint gonna cut it.
