running out of ideas...poor performance

Just got back from a winter dyno drag league thing (kinda cool actually).

Ran a 13.90 at like 97mph. Now for my mods I am off. I have gone threw everything...everything for the most part and am thinking that I may have a bad coil/pip/stator.

I ran into a good bit of det./ping with 30* and fuel multiplyer, 34* and no fuel mulitplier, and 31 no mulitiplier all at 12.8-12.9:1 A/F. It is falling on its face and reving quite slowly after 3-3500rpms. Every datalog I have ran since I got this thing together has been fine. Temps are at the highest 192-193* (over summer in mid-high 90's).

I am thinking the pip is not working properly and the timing is getting off someplace due to that. My logs are showing no problems but that does not mean the dizzy is out of wack.

Any ideas???????

so the wb on the dyno showed 12.8:1 a/f?

still have your egr? try blocking it off with a little piece of sheet metal or something.

are you going into open loop?

where did you get the maf transfer for the 98gt maf?

are you sure the tranfer you have is valid for a cbaza? i never found out if the 96-98 maf electronics are interchangeable with the 94/95 (ie - if they generate the same voltage for a given air flow)

i'd try putting in a stock maf and using that transfer function, see if the pinging behavior changes.

done a compression test? carbon buildup in the chambers maybe?

what octane gas are you using?

any telltale signs on the sparl plugs?

do you have a friend who can loan you his dizzy for a test?
