What MAF do you have? I know that some people have problems with their C&L units, and sometimes those "matched" meter and injector packages don't work great without a good tune. You could cheat it a bit by using an AFPR, like said above, but a tune is your best bet.

This is all assuming you are not having failures somewhere in your system.

Holley systemax intake, AFR heads 185's, I do not have an adjustable fp regulator, stock fuel pump. Also have a pro-m mass air meter. It's running hot, and when you drive it, it doesnt have all the power that it should.

I believe that with it running lean, maybe thats why its running hot. What do you mean by all the "broke crap"?

+1

You definitely shouldn't be using a stock fuel pump with that setup, most will tell you that a stock pump is barely adequate for the stock 302. A 255 lph pump will work great, and allow for some amount of forced induction or nitrous later down the road.

Too much timing will lead to engine knock, and running lean can cause lean detonation, both can cause serious engine damage and if nothing else, excess heat.
