What's up all. I got a 66 mustang with major rust problems in the rear quarter panel, door and roof areas. Well not so much major it is just rust and it freaks me out. the one I am working on right now is right behind the window right behind the little chrome louvre or whatever it is. it is just a real small spot about a half an inch wide and two inches high. Should I just cut that beast out and weld on a new piece of metal or strip down the whole car and just take it to a shop or what. Anybody out there with any experience can help me like I have heard that you can just weld strips on and things of this nature. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you..

Covering the rust spots up will not help anything. Its best to cut out the affected area, weld in new metal, bondo to match and paint. Rust problems only worsen over time if they are ignored. I would take it to a local shop since they will have all the right tools for the job.
