s/c or turbo for 1/8 mile

I was going to get a few opinions of whats better, supercharger or turbo. what is the max boost you can run on pump gas? I really only run on 1/8 mile tracks. I have a 306 with afr 185s. I have been looking at the D-1sc procharger. If you guys could list a few sights to showcase some turbos i would appreciate it. thanks.

twin screw like an eaton or autorotor would spool very quikly and probally work very well in the 1/8

Although thats true,if its an auto a high stall, its would launch right were a centri blower would start making big boost. And if its a heavy car with auto I would say turbo.

Now if its heavy and a stick I would say the roots/screw,because of the torque and the face you can use less gear with the stick, there buy getting more mph with less gear.

Plus, you can add just a little bit of nitrous and it magnifise and changes them around alittle.

you must race as George Rays, right?

What the hell are you talking about??

Turbo's are not the ultimate answer...sheez

Be cause of the wieght, and the C4,I would say your best off with a centrifical supercharger.Through a high stall in there, with a 4.10 gear and haul ass....

Everyone who just walks in and says turbo and nothing else other than how much better they are....

Its just getting a little irritating.....

Don't get wound up, stangnet is full of people with absolutely no clue.
Nor do they realize a good turbo setup is $6000 or so. They all think you can just slap on a turbo on a car, it's not nearly that easy.

IMO, having 185's already, i'd do a 347, maybe a 100 shot on a race car.

So what you're saying is, that a turbo setup is better it just cost more and is harder to put together?

If at all feasible I'd go with a turbo setup, just because I've had great experiences with turbo's. But a properly pieced together supercharger setup will be "almost" as good.

Boost is good!

That's pretty much what i'm saying.
Assembling is only half the battle (majority of kits fit horribly), getting it to run right is the other half.
My buddy does turbo cars all the time, street and race, they are a serious hassle, and most need a DFI setup to run perfect.

For an all out race car, without a doubt turbo, but we are talking 1500rwhp on race blocks, not a 306 with a stock block.

Look at TT91, he's got a sweet turbo setup, but it's taking some time to get perfected, and he's no 5.0 rookie. Now put that in the average newbie (specific to no one) hands and what you have is alot of broken and screwed up parts.
