Just had my car dynoed with all the mods below about a week ago. I bought a paxton 1000 since. I have not begun install yet but have a few questions.
I asked the guys at the shop about driving it over with the parts installed and asked if they could provide me with a base tune. They said they really couldn't. I have too many mods and would be soooo far off (they wreen't the ones who did this last tune on my car). However they told me things would be fine if I drove over like a grandma, didn't put on the injectors or 90mm MAF, and stay out of the boost. The drive is 45 miles. Is this ok?
Also, as I was thinking in my head (granted I haven't bolted anything up yet) can't I mount the blower, tap the oil pan, hook up the lines and just not run the drive belt to the thing? When I got there I could obviously hook up some of the tubing to the throttle body and the other to the cold air pick up in a sec. I would think that would be the best way to do this.
PS....You guys with blowers....when you plumbed to the pan how did you to it? I don't have the punch I need and the guys at the hardware store looked at me like I was crazy when I went in there asking for something that size. I'm kinda out of options. I'm thinking about just drilling and tapping with no punch, putting it in and going to a brake or muffler shop and having them weld it.
