I have unexpectedly stumbled onto a local guy w/ Crown Vic being parted out. That's all I know at this point. I have emailed him, to find out year, condition, etc.

My question is what parts of the rearend and/or brakes are useable on a 68 coupe? What are ballpark reasonable prices if everything is complete and in good condition? And, what year Crown Vic should I be hoping for? I have done a quick search, but I'm at work and will be all weekend. Since this came up quickly and unexpectedly, I'm looking for a little help to decipher the 'nuts and bolts' of what I should be looking for when I hear back from him. I can research a little more on Mon. or Tues., but am hoping for a little guidance in the meantime.

Thanks in advance for any help that you can give me, and let me know if I need to give more info.

Hi, Guys.
I know I should introduce myself before posting, but I think I need to respond here. If you are interested in rear discs, the 95 CV is a good donor. Here's a thread with some useful info:

Here's a write-up detailing the procedure by one of the members of the Classic Mustang mailing list:

Sorry again for jumping in without properly introducing myself.

Thanks, Dennis. That was my next question. Any thoughts on what would be a ballpark reasonable price for the necessary components off the 95?

Not a very good one, I'm afraid. I bought my stuff from a local junk yard that wouldn't let me pull the parts myself, so I bought the entire rear end to make sure I knew how stuff came apart. I also bought 4 16" cop car wheels while I was at it. $350 for everything. You should probably figure on buying all the wear parts new (except the e-brake shoes and stuff), so you can get an idea for that from rock auto before you talk to the guy.
Later,
Dennis
