Roush S281 suspension ?

Has anyone ever experienced taking your wheels off, and after putting them back on.... one side is now sitting higher than the other???

Have done this before no problem, but last night lowered the car back down on the passenger side and too much gap between tires and wheel wells..3/4-1 inch

tried driving it a little to see if it would "settle" back in, but no luck.
any sugggestions????

Make sure your spring(s) on that side of the car are sitting properly (top of your lower control arm).

drove it in to work today and put it on the hoist.....that was the first thing we checked, everything seemed to be correct with the springs...they seem the same from side to side also Did find out I need new shocks though, but that shouldn't change the ride hieght

We'll get it on the rack tomorrow and check the spring on the driver side and see if it "collasped" a little and if that side is actually low now.

Anyone with a 94-98 (stock suspension) S281 measure from the ground to the lip of the rear fender well for me and post the measurement.....obviously tires are going to very this a little bit...but if you have a low profile tire and stock rims it should be close. This way I would have an idea of which side is correct.

Almost every Saleen I have ever seen has a little bit of difference. The spring fade differently. The only true way to get it perfect is to go coil overs. If you are doing shocks you should look into it. Save a few pounds also.

as far as coil overs on a 96 vert what would you suggest????

Right.



I like the hypercoils set up. Call Joe at Chicane. He stocks the kits. They are pretty simple to use. You may need to run C/C plates depending on which way you go. Also, you need to always speak up when ordering coil overs because you can go just about any pound spring rate you want. Everyone likes their car to ride a little different. I had 375's on the front of my S351 and liked houw it rode. Some guys like going 400 or more. MOre lbs the stiffer the ride. Not as bouncy either.

Thanks again!!!

I appreciate it...ended up just putting on two "decent" performance shocks for now....have two car shows I want to make this weekend so I had limited time.

Car sits a shade high in the back but rides GREAT!!!!!

I'm definitely going to look into the coil overs though!

a blown shock will cause it to sag, my rear went down 1/2" when both the rear shocks went out; im going to go with maximum motorsports coilovers, theyre pricey but worth it or so i hear
