Help Identify this Saleen Wheel? *PICS*

Ok I bought these wheels from someone here locally and put them on...I originally thought they were from a 96-98 saleen...and they still might be.

Anyway I need help Identifying these rims.....They are supposedly authentic saleen wheels and I think they are but am not sure....

here are a few pics....rims are 18X8.5 were yellow and I was told possibly silver before that...but I just had them repowdercoated silver again...

on this pic you can see the stamps on the rear of the rim...kind of hard to read but they say the size of the rim....then one part says "italy" on it...

Then this is the rubber piece that goes on the rear of the rim...anyone know what this is for?? This has a few model numbers and also says "speedline" which I know has to do with saleen.

let me know what you guys think...and if you need/want more pics let me know

well they dont look like 99+ saleens but dont look like 94-98's either, I believe 8.5" fronts were only available on the 94-98 saleens. If i remeber correct the saleen magnesium rims similar to the 99+ but still had the 94-98 widths. You might have a very rare set of wheels on your hand im not positive on this.

Edit: i just found an old 98 saleen cataloge (sp?) and what it looks like is that u have a set of saleen magnesiums. The pic of them looks identical to the pics u posted.

Heres a pic of my 99+ chrome saleens on my old gt

thank you mark

ok now I am not totally convinced these are the exact same...but if they are I am in complete shock and amazement because I was practically given these wheels....

would you believe that I paid $650 for all 4 W/TIRE! practically brand new tires at that!

and before everyone jumps to conclusions I know for a fact these rims are not "hot" as some may want to think.......

All I can say is god damn that is alot of money for the rims! I want some 18X10's though...

What is that catalog and how can I get my hands on a copy??? does saleen mail out catalogs at all??

authentic saleen rims have a engraved 'S' on the rim. if it doesn't it's a knock off.

it's not on the spokes, on the front of the rim itself you can see it if your close up, should be a bit smaller than an inch i think.

your welcome for the pics
I got the catalog way back in 98 when i was out in cali, i decided to drop by them and buy a couple things i had wanted. I think you can order the catalogs but i believe there like 5 bux.
As far as markings on the wheels ill try and give as much description as i can from the catalog pic.

There are a couple markings to the left of the valve stem that i cant make out, to the right of the valve stem i can see a 18" stamped. and 2 spokes over from the left of the valve stem on the face of the rim i can see "mangnesium" stamped and the spoke to the left of that on the face i can see "speedline"

About how much do the rims weight? I think the magnesium rims are lighter than most.

Hey 007, can I ask where your Saleen replicas from. I'm in market for Saleen replicas since I can't afford to get the authentic ones. I really don't care for the authentics ones anyways since the replicas look 100 percent identical.

My fathers 02 Saleen has the chrome wheel, and has "Saleen" stamped on the wheel lip area..

Could those possibly be Wheel replica knock off's?
