I had a guy at work try to tell me my car isn't a saleen anymore because of the mods I have done.As far as I am concerned it will always be a saleen but not worth much to a collector. What are your opinions about modding a saleen?I personally think they have made too many to be worth any big money later especially the 99-04 models.

Be careful, if Steve Saleen finds out you modified the car you bought from him, he will sneak over in the middle of the night, remove your engine bay and interior plaques under the cover of darkness, and forever strike your car from the factory records.

If he is in a really bad mood he might even have your car cubed as well.

Your coworker has no idea what he is talking about. You could paint your car pink and put hydraulics on it and it will still be a Saleen. An ugly one albeit, but still one. Your coworker probably also believes if you put all saleen parts on a regular mustang, the factory will sign off on the car and certify it is a real Saleen.

Sounds like the guy at your work is a jackass. Tell him to stick to what he knows about, which at this point sounds like it's nothing at all.

Saleen is a manufacturer, sort of like ford.
So by his logic since i modified my ford mustang, it's no longer a ford.

Tell me where you guys work and I'll tell you something about you do that I know nothing about.

I'm with Joe.

In Fact, has anyone noticed that on the 05 and up Saleen Mustangs it does not say ford or have a blue oval on it anywhere? Right.
