Today, I got pulled over for not having a front license plate, in addition to not having a California License (Connecticut).

I'm looking for a 94-98 front to quickly put on mine for at most an hour.

The plan is to quickly swap yours off, go down to the local PD and have someone sign off on it, and then bring it right back.

To make things more interesting, I'd actually prefer the temporary donor to not be white.

Well i got a new bumper so i have my stocker in the Garage. If you need it you can have it for like a little bit of gas cash and us to meet halfway. maybe it would be good if you can throw in a few extra buks for me and you can have the bumper.

PM me if u want it.

Cool.

I'm trying to convince someone in another department to let me swap from her Red 98GT.

I'll keep you posted to save you the drive.

Should I ever be in the "no front plate, got pulled over for it" scenario, my plan is to use double sided tape (a small amount) to attach the frame to my front bumper, then mount the plate. Once I am done, off it goes--a little cleaning of tape and I am back in business. A lot less work that R&I'ing 2 bumpers.

Ha. I assume they'd do some sort of up close visual inspection, and with my luck of late, the tape would lose its hold and fall off.

Good idea though. I guess the worst thing they could do is not sign off and send me home to go "fix" it again, or write me another fix-it tix.

I've had that ticket twice, and both times the cop reached down and grabbed the plate to see if it was secure.
Which it was, but that's just me.

Did you get a ticket for not having a California license? I roll on NJ license since I got here in December.

Yes.

Since I own property that's registered in California (the Cobra), I am required to have a California driver's license. Apparently, only California drivers are allowed to operate California owned/registered equipment. That too, is just a fix-it tix, but I'm too busy at work to spend an entire day at the DMV.

...and I would have gotten away with turbo if it weren't for that meddlin' CARB.

I thought that you would need a California license to register a car in Cali, so you're saying that they let you get Cali plates on the car with a Connecticut license?
