Save old Exhaust System?

I have a '93 GT with 43,000 miles on it. The car has always been garaged and never sees salt, rarely rain. I am getting a Borla exhaust for it, but wanted to keep the original exhaust because it is still in good shape. Is there an easy way to get the old exhaust out, from cats back, without completely destroying the system? I heard that it is possible if the control arms are disconnected etc. but is there any easier way? I am going to have access to a lift, so I'll have extra room to play with it. If I have to cut it, where will be the best place to do so? I was thinking maybe where it goes over the rear axle.
Any suggestions? I appreciate any help!

unbolt from the headers... and if the mufflers are welded to the tail pipes just cut them right after the muffler and u should get it out... i would keep it... when i had a shop do my mufflers i had them throw my tail pipes wish i never did that! i wanna put them back on now!

you can unbolt the h-pipe and pull it off if you want. The tailpipes w/ mufflers will probably need to be cut right after the mufflers because I don't see that going over the axle. I did have new pipes put in from the muffler back, so I know those will fit out over the rear axle. I would also keep it.

I pulled brand new exhaust off an 02 GT and never cut anything. I didnt want to cut brand new stuff so I unbolted the rear shocks and let the rearend hang as much as possible and got them out. If they're worth anything to you then it's worth the extra effort to get them out uncut IMO.

I agree with Gear head if you cut it then it isn't worth keeping. It takes time, but its not hard to get it out (or in) in one piece. Put the car up on jack stand or a lift. Unbolt the rear socks and remove the quads. You then can work it up and over the axle and out thru the wheel opening. Just be carful not to nick your paint as the tail pipes swing around in a big arc becuase of the bend over the axle.

If you ever want to put it back on you can and you won;t be battling exhuast leaks from where it was cut.
