So I am the new guy here, owner of a 2002 Mustang GT convert. Nice car, my favorite driver. Had to replace the engine last year, burned valve with only 70,000 miles. Things happen, nice to have a new motor.
Ran great until a few days ago, service engine soon light, erratic idle with a strong odor of fuel.
Pulled the MAF sensor and cleaned it. Took it for a ride and it felt much better, still didn't want to idle down right. Got back home and found that I had failed to hook the electrical on the sensor back up. Color me embarrassed. Hooked it back up and back to square one, still crappy idle.

So I have a code scanner picked out at Sears, the problem is I do not know where to plug it in. Can someone direct me to that connector and maybe a photo? Thanks in advance

Should be an OBDII port under the dash, is that is what you are referring too. You will probably get more response in some other section than the "classic" section.

It's actually behind the dash on the driver's side, behind the radio area. Just look behind the drivers side of the console and you'll see it.

Not being a jerk but a "2002 Mustang GT" in the Classic Tech section? Maybe in 2035, LOL.
