Has anyone tried their disc coversion brackets? I did a parts seach for rotors, calipers, pads, and hoses and came up with a total of a little over $300 for the conversion including the brackets. There is no mention of a splash shield. Is one necessary? I e-mailed them asking the same thing. Are there any other alternatives that would be cheaper besides the Granada thing?

I've used the Rod and Custom Motorsports kit:
http://parts.homestead.com/132.html
Similar idea to scarebird, but includes all parts to convert the drum brakes to disc brakes at the spindles, including S.S. hoses.

I like that kit:it has everything and a good price. Did you change anything else like the master cylinder, pedal, or distribution block?

I used mustang steve's ( www.mustangsteve.com ) power brake conversion. Since I did this I needed to modify the pin on my original brake pedal to change the ration so the brakes were not to touchy. Steve also offers this modification service. While doing this I also switched to a dual master cylinder, and added a proportioning valve off of a fox mustang into the system in place of the distribution block. You could get by with doing as little as adding an adj. proportioning valve into the rear line, leaving the distribution block and be done, but I would suggest also adding a dual master cylinder. Poke around on Steve's site, a lot of good brake info there. I also noted your in your sig that you are working on a 6 to 8 coversion. Note R & C's disc conversion as well as most of manufacture's will be designed to bolt up to V8 spindles only. Also note I'm speaking from experience on a 66, I notice you listed a 67 in another thread.

Yes, I have the V8 spindles from a boneyard. Thx for the info. I'll check his site for more info.

i am considerin the scarebird brackets for my falcon, but i would like an inexpensive kit that would allow me to use the larger 12" rotors from a 68 Tbird on my mustang's spindles.
