School me on handguns, please.

I haven't read past your first post so my vote is for either .40 S&W or 9mm. Don't hold the pistol so tight so that you are shaking, but don't hold it loose either. Give a good firm grip (insert innuendo) and squeeze the trigger. Bend the elbows slightly and always keep a steadying hand under the clip (if anyone says a word about my use of the word, "clip" I will steal your IP and then your identity). Face your opponent. Try not to go do number 2 with it and take it apart whilst pooping. That last part might happen. If it does, don't worry you are not paranoid. It will wear off in a couple of years. :)

9mm Springfield XD was the final choice. Fired 50 rounds through it yesterday; stripped & cleaned today, and tossed her back in the safe.

The wife shot my .22 semi-auto and ran 200 rounds through it. She held a pretty awesome pattern, time after time! :nice:
Here's Cameron Phillips in action...

Here's the collection thus far...

Crazy thing--the .22 feels heavier than the 9mm.

of course it does. It appears to be made of some alloy, where as the XD is recycled tupperware

Speaking of 9's and 22's :D

EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!

I just want you to know one thing... The way she is shooting is MAKING MY SKIN CRAWL. I was actually taught that EXACT way at an early age (maybe middle school or highschool) and then re re re taught over and over again at the range buy rangemasters (most of them LEO's). That way is actually how you target shoot for sport...

But I will say this, "whatever works." Find something and get comfortable. All that matters is gun control, which is defined by me as hitting your target :nice:

Yea, that way of shooting is not what one would call tactical but she won't be carrying and concealing is my guess, so just pulling the trigger and aiming is good enough for simple home defense, now if she toted the gun where ever, one might teach her the "Weaver" style, but that has its drawbacks as well. Nice purchase Timeless.:nice:
22.'s are nice for concealment and for those that don't like a lot of noise and kick back, that round is accurate and lethal in close quarters combat.
Heaven help the person that encounters a full-auto 22.
