Screaming windows

I'm sure you all may have this issue too,

Problem: When rolling up the passenger window to my '90 it screeches the last 25% up. Annoying as all get out, as you can imagine. The sound sounds like its coming from the actual window rubbing up against the window door guides (NOT the door mechanics inside the door BUT at the top when the window is about sealed shut.)

Fix: How do you stop this? There has got to be some kind of lube or spray to quiet the noise.

Any help would be appricatied, thanks.

John

My Gt passenger window screams when it goes up.

I have looked into it a couple of times, but never found the source.

Girls hate that noise in their ear by the way.

A bad bushing around the tracking rod can screech.

If you think it's a guide, but that the window in still in the guide, you can shoot silicone spray down the felt guide. I do this occasionally and it really removes a lot of resistance in the window movement. In your case, if the sound changes, you know you're in the right vicinity.

Good luck.

Take off the door panel and watch it go up the track and see exactly whats happening. Thatll give you your answer better then us becuase youll be able to see exactly whats going on. Could be off the track, could be as simple ass spraying some wd40 on the track to lubricate it.

Thanks guys, I'll let you guys know what the fix is.

Seems like this is a common problem on the Passenger side window- at least thats what most of the fellow stangers are saying.

I absolutely hate taking off the door panels but like vristang said, "girls hate the noise"

There are mulitple things it could be so the best thing to do is just take the door panel off and raise the window up and down and try to pinpoint it. When mine does that, the squeal sounds like metal on metal, I take the panel off and lube the crap out of everything. It keeps it quite for about a year and then it starts again.
